They should allow gay people in the boy scouts. They should be treated as equal and shouldnt be discriminated against for being gay. And plus it will boost their morale.

People should still go to college and strive to get good jobs. They need to get a job in their field and move up while gaining experience. They should not settle for jobs like a taxi driver.

Hopefully she doesn't run for president. If she does, she will be defeated by a Republican. She will lose a ton of votes for being a woman as Obama gained for being black. They should put a person who has a legitimate shot at winning.

1/22 assignment

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President Barack Obama was sworn in to his second term in Washington D.C. The president defeated Mitt Romney in a close presidential race last November. In his speech he brought up issues he will try to tackle during the next four years. He has high hopes for our country going into the future. He brought up ways to help our economy and how to get more jobs in the US. He emphasized that our country needs to stay together as a whole to get past these difficult time. In particularly pointed references, the president made a forceful call for gay rights that equated the issue with the struggle for women's rights in the 19th century and civil rights in the 1960s. More cheers came when Obama called for "our gay brothers and sisters" to be treated "like anyone else under the law for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well." Obama made a reference to gun control, saying that the nation needed to ensure that "all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm." The President has a lot to do in the next 4 years.

It is strange to find your house being robbed from a plane. They noticed something was wrong from the sky. The guy had to know they were flying or away for awhile to go try and rob them.

The White House and the Senate have finalized the details of their deal to avert the fiscal cliff. The bill basically follows the framework that came out earlier this afternoon from the McConnell-Biden talks, with key additional details. Tax rates will permanently rise to Clinton-era levels for families with income above $450,000 and individuals above $400,000.  The estate tax will be set at 40 percent with a $5 million exemption.  The sequester will be delayed for two months. Half of the delay will be offset by discretionary cuts, split between defense and non-defense. The pay freeze on members of Congress, which Obama had lifted earlier this year, will be re-imposed.
