They are being charged with tampering with the investigation and trying to mess up the investigations. They do fit the crime because they threw away a backpack with numerous things in it.

The quote is true. We need to stand up to those who do bad things like the boston bombing.

They could've not bombed boston and not have caused havoc.

It can be if you don't help someone in need and you could've helped them. You should always try to help someone in need.

If i saw them drop the backpacks I would have told the police. If I was the friend, I would cooperate with police and try to stay out of their way.

Whoever did this will get in a lot of trouble. They will be in jail for the rest of their life. We will make them pay for what they did in Boston. The consequences shouldn't be different if they are non citizens. They should be in just as much trouble. They do folllow the constitution.

College Sports Versus Academics- This one I get. It pokes fun at the Mike Rice firing where he shoved, hit and threw basketballs at his players. It is also saying that student athletes don't need to work as hard at school than those who do. Which is true..

North Korea threats- I like this one because it is Kim Jong Un coming out of a clock but instead of saying "Koo-Koo" he is saying "Nuke You". It's funny because he has threatened to shoot missles at South Korea and USA.

OIL- This one is about the Exxon oil spill. It has a man having oil spilt out of him with uncle sam saying he needs to buy pampers and a lot of them. It is in response to the oil spill in Arkansas that is kind of being shoved to the side by the government.

Roger Ebert- This one is about the death of Roger Ebert. He died earlier this week. It shows the earth as a reel of film and he is climbing the reel like a ladder to heaven. He was born in 1942. He was 71 years old.

Obama shoots hoops- This one shows President Obama shooting basketball and missing. A reporter is shown writing, "The basket misses Obama's shots." It hints that Obama does no wrong and that reporters seem to find someone else to take the blame.

BR 3/13

The constitution is important to us. It makes us American. It seperated us from England.

3/12 Assignment

Jurors are very important to our legal system. They are responsible for deciding if someone is guilty or not. They’re not supposed to watch the news or read about the case and have to be completely biased with their decision. They can take notes or drawings of anything that happens in the court room to remind themselves of evidence or a timeline of events to better help themselves come to a conclusion. The jury can also pass notes or messages to the judge to ask him or her to clarify something in the case. Jurors must base their decision on only facts that were given in the case. They must also be impartial and independent. The jury does not do the sentencing; they just decide whether or not a person is guilty or innocent. The jury must sit through and listen to both sides of the argument. Once both sides present their closing arguments, the jury must go in the jury room to deliberate. They can take their notes but cannot have any communication outside of the room. They come to a conclusion in the room and come out to read their verdict. The jurors cannot be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol when on duty. They also must be at the trial and cannot miss it unless they have a reasonable excuse. There is usually 12 jurors and they sit on the side of the courtroom on a bench. There are 2 main different types of Jurors. There are petit Jurors and Grand Jurors. In Petit, The jurors find if the defendant is guilty or innocent. There are 12 Jurors for a Criminal case and 8 for a Civil Case. A grand jury decides whether or not the person should be indicted for a crime. They may not decide whether or not the person is guilty or innocent. Most grand jurors have to spend more time on the case than a petit juror would. The jury is an important part of any court case and people should take their duty seriously.

I personally would not like to be a juror. I wouldn’t want the pressure of having to decide if someone is Guilty or Innocent. Either way, people will be upset at the decision you make. You do get to make the decision with 11 other people who are in the same situation. But it is a duty and I would do it if I were called upon.

Fairmont is a historical city in West Virginia. The slideshow showed a lot of landmarks in  the town. It also showed that it was the first city to observe fathers day.

Kids don't need to send pics like that. The person could show everyone, send it to people, or someone could hack their phone like a ninja. Don't send nakes to people.

The kids should have been more careful posting the video. They should have known having racial slurs on the video would get then in trouble. They shouldn't have been ignorant.

1/22 assignment

On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President Barack Obama was sworn in to his second term in Washington D.C. The president defeated Mitt Romney in a close presidential race last November. In his speech he brought up issues he will try to tackle during the next four years. He has high hopes for our country going into the future. He brought up ways to help our economy and how to get more jobs in the US. He emphasized that our country needs to stay together as a whole to get past these difficult time. In particularly pointed references, the president made a forceful call for gay rights that equated the issue with the struggle for women's rights in the 19th century and civil rights in the 1960s. More cheers came when Obama called for "our gay brothers and sisters" to be treated "like anyone else under the law for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well." Obama made a reference to gun control, saying that the nation needed to ensure that "all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm." The President has a lot to do in the next 4 years.

The White House and the Senate have finalized the details of their deal to avert the fiscal cliff. The bill basically follows the framework that came out earlier this afternoon from the McConnell-Biden talks, with key additional details. Tax rates will permanently rise to Clinton-era levels for families with income above $450,000 and individuals above $400,000.  The estate tax will be set at 40 percent with a $5 million exemption.  The sequester will be delayed for two months. Half of the delay will be offset by discretionary cuts, split between defense and non-defense. The pay freeze on members of Congress, which Obama had lifted earlier this year, will be re-imposed.
